The San Andreas Fault is located in California. The San Andreas Fault separates the Pacific and North American plates. The North American Plate moves southwest and the Pacific Plate moves northwest. These plates move very slowly but eventually, California will split in half. Right now though, the stress caused by the plates rubbing together causes earthquakes!
